The first incident took place on Wrocławska Street in Legnica. Road traffic police officers noticed a motorcyclist who had committed a traffic offence. They decided to stop him for a roadside check. The rider did not stop; on the contrary, he accelerated sharply. The officers therefore began a pursuit.
The motorcyclist’s reckless riding posed a threat to other road users. A moment later, a heavy goods vehicle blocked him, preventing him from continuing his escape. The dangerous driver was arrested.
It turned out that the 23-year-old man did not have the documents required during a roadside check. He also did not hold a category A driving licence.
The second pursuit took place in Miłkowice. Officers from the Prevention Unit of the Police Station in Chojnów decided to stop the driver of an Opel Vectra for a roadside check. He also failed to respond to the signals given by the officers in uniform and began to flee. The police set off in pursuit. After several kilometres, they managed to stop the 36-year-old man. There was a distinct smell of alcohol on his breath. Indeed, the man was completely drunk; he blew nearly 2 per mille.
Both irresponsible drivers now face up to five years in prison.
