Zgorzelec criminal investigators identified and arrested a suspect believed to have committed a series of thefts and burglaries at service and catering establishments, as well as in utility rooms and basements. The crimes took place in August. The suspect turned out to be a 31-year-old resident of Zgorzelec.
Some time later, his accomplices were also arrested. They are 29- and 30-year-old men from Zgorzelec. The group is responsible for a total of 11 thefts and burglaries.
The perpetrators stole, among other things, cosmetics and hairdressing accessories, automotive items, alcohol, bicycles, power tools and music equipment. The stolen property was worth more than PLN 50,000. Some of the items were recovered and will be returned to their owners.
At the request of the police and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, the court remanded all three in custody for three months. The burglars face up to 10 years in prison.
