At the beginning of August, a man noticed at the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec what is currently “clearly visible throughout the country, namely the lack of proper marking of spaces for people with disabilities.”
And he added:
Under the regulation of the Minister of Infrastructure of 3 July 2015 (Journal of Laws 2015, item 1314), which entered into force on 7 September 2015 with a transitional period until 1 July 2017, parking spaces for people with disabilities should be marked with a wheelchair symbol painted on a blue background within a marked bay. This means that by 30 June 2017, all spaces in car parks designated for people with disabilities should be repainted blue.
As they say—it's darkest under the streetlamp.
As senior sergeant Marta Kubiak, press spokesperson for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec, told us, the marking located by the headquarters complies with the regulations. In front of the police headquarters there is a P-20 road marking. However, to make the space more visible, the marking will be changed to P-24 and painted blue. The police are currently in talks with the contractor. The repainting of the bays was delayed because the officers were securing funds for this purpose. The problem should be resolved later this week.
The spokesperson emphasizes: “We constantly make sure that no unauthorized person parks there; we ensure that these spaces are occupied only by people with disabilities.”
