The incident occurred on August 11 in the afternoon in Bolesławiec. Two men from Żary County, aged 26 and 29, selected an Audi vehicle as their target. The thieves broke into the car, damaging the lock cylinder. Fortunately, they did not manage to drive away because the alarm went off and scared them away.

Disappointed by their failure, they tried to look for further opportunities in another parking lot. The desperate men walked between parked cars and tugged at the handles, hoping that one of them would be unlocked.

The officers’ quick response thwarted their plan. The police had no doubt that these two men were responsible for the break-in and attempted theft of the Audi. Officers found the tools the suspects had used to commit the crime. The residents of Żary County were detained and spent the night in police custody.

Both detainees confessed. Each of them had repeatedly come into conflict with the law. Both suspects now face up to 10 years in prison.
