On Sunday alone, officers from the Legnica traffic police arrested three drivers who were travelling through our county while intoxicated. The first caused a collision on the A4 motorway. Driving a Toyota, he was overtaking an Opel when he struck its side. The police officers attending the incident smelled alcohol on the 23-year-old Toyota driver. The resident of Wrocław blew nearly 2 per mille of alcohol on the breathalyser.
The second drunk driver was caught by uniformed officers in Legnickie Pole. The 33-year-old Ukrainian was driving a VW Transporter across the entire width of the road. The Ukrainian had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system and was taken to a sobering-up station.
The third driver was caught on Artyleryjska Street. Officers from the Legnica traffic police stopped the driver of an Opel for inspection; he was travelling from the left to the right edge of the road. It turned out that the 29-year-old Ukrainian citizen had nearly 3 per mille of alcohol in his system.
All three irresponsible drivers now face up to 2 years in prison.
