A resident of Nowogrodziec gmina noticed on Friday, 21 July, that most of the bins for segregated waste had disappeared in Zebrzydowa. In an email to the editorial office, he wrote:

I was just in Nowogrodziec and saw that at the next four locations along the way there were no bins either. What is more, even those at the turn-off to Kaolin [...] have disappeared, but a little farther on, already within Nowogrodziec, the bins are standing as they always have.

I do not know whether the same thing has happened in other places. Perhaps it has something to do with the new waste law. One thing puzzles me: as far as I know, even the law in its previous version obliged the gmina to place segregation containers no more than several hundred metres apart.

He added: – When my internet failed for several days, I received a proportional discount. So if the gmina does not fulfil its obligation for several days and I have to drive my rubbish to bins located 7 km from home, will I pay less for this month? ;)

– We have a new waste management system – Dariusz Jancelewicz, deputy mayor of Nowogrodziec, tells istotne.pl Dariusz Jancelewicz. Under the regulations that came into force on 1 July this year, a bag-based system will apply in rural areas, just as, for example, on housing estates in Bolesławiec. Segregated waste – in appropriately coloured bags – will be collected once a month, directly from the property. Therefore, rural residents in Nowogrodziec gmina do not have to transport their waste to the containers that are still standing in Nowogrodziec.

What is more, another site with vandal-resistant waste containers is to be created in the gmina capital this year. As Roberta Relicha’s deputy stresses, they have been very well received by Nowogrodziec residents.Roberta Relich, who, as the deputy stresses, have been very well received by Nowogrodziec residents.
