Due to the heat prevailing in Poland, the companies of the PKP Group have prepared to provide passengers with the greatest possible travel comfort. The Customer Support Centre operates around the clock – a team that organizes assistance for passengers in the event of disruptions to train services, including those caused by adverse weather conditions.
Trains in the Express InterCity Premium, Express InterCity and InterCity categories are equipped with air conditioning. This system is also installed in some Twoje Linie Kolejowe trains. In the coming years, the rolling stock that PKP Intercity plans to modernize or purchase in accordance with its rolling stock strategy will be equipped with air conditioning. If the air conditioning fails in one of the carriages, passengers will, where possible, be offered seats in air-conditioned sections of the train. If there are no such seats available, efforts will be made to provide passengers with drinks. Where possible, drinks will also be distributed to passengers in the event of potential train delays exceeding 60 minutes. Passengers waiting at stations for trains delayed by more than 120 minutes can also count on drinks and meals.
The railway also remembers passengers travelling with pets. Bowls of water have been placed at 20 stations.
PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe S.A. work with carriers on an ongoing basis to ensure passengers the greatest possible travel comfort. During hot weather, they conduct additional inspections on sections of railway lines particularly exposed to high temperatures. Dispatch services oversee the safety of rail traffic. Throughout the country, 161 rapid-response teams remain available. Sixty-two network trains have also been deployed across the network to repair the overhead contact line.
Current information about train services is available at portalpasazera.pl and in the Rozkład Kolejowy app. Detailed information about PKP Intercity train services is available on the carrier’s website, www.intercity.pl, and via the helpline at 703 200 200.
