The incident occurred in Goliszów (Legnica County, Chojnów Municipality). Officers from the prevention department noticed a Fiat vehicle. The driver was not only speeding, but was also driving across the entire width of the road. The officers decided to stop him for a check.

The young man did not stop; on the contrary, he accelerated and began fleeing from the officers. They gave chase.

A moment later, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Four people got out of the vehicle and fled into the forest. The officers managed to detain two of them.

An ambulance was called to the scene. Meanwhile, a forester approached the officers and informed them that approximately 3 km from the site of the crash there were two people who might be connected with the incident. The officers found a woman and a man there. Both admitted that they had been travelling in the Fiat mentioned above.

As a result of actions by the Chojnów police, it was established that the vehicle had been driven by a 19-year-old man. Blood was taken from him for testing. Under the new regulations, the teenager, who failed to stop for a roadside check, faces up to five years in prison. The prosecutor's office placed him under police supervision and required a financial guarantee of PLN 2,500.
