The incident occurred on Wednesday, 21 June, in Wykroty (Nowogrodziec gmina). The man fell from a tree while cutting branches. A competing outlet wrote that he was “hanging a scarecrow” and had suffered multiple fractures. The injured man’s granddaughter contacted us. “I don’t know where this information came from; it was made up,” the outraged woman says.
She adds that her grandfather made it home under his own power—which rather strongly contradicts the claim about multiple fractures. His daughter-in-law called an ambulance. When the emergency services arrived, the rescuers decided to call in an LPR helicopter. The helicopter took the injured man to a hospital in Zielona Góra.
Even the injured man’s family does not know exactly what injuries he sustained. It appears that journalists from the competing outlet use the services of a telepathic surgeon.
The man’s granddaughter asked the local outlet to change the content or remove the post. She says she was told that the service had obtained the information from the fire service. We also asked firefighters about the incident. The duty officer at KP PSP told us that the uniformed personnel only secured the helicopter’s landing. They have no information about the circumstances of the accident.
