Jelenia Góra police officers detained a 31-year-old man who imported cars from abroad and brought them into Poland while avoiding VAT. Officers established that from 25 May to 25 September 2015, the man imported 25 vehicles of various makes into the country and sold them through online portals.
The State Treasury’s preliminary losses were estimated at PLN 300,000. The case is developing, and further arrests cannot be ruled out. The 31-year-old is under police supervision and has been ordered to refrain from conducting business involving the purchase and sale of motor vehicles.
The suspect faces a fine or imprisonment—or both penalties simultaneously.
