The 46-year-old man called his loved ones to say goodbye. He informed them that he wanted to take his own life. Concerned by her son’s behavior, his mother called the emergency number 112. The report was received by the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. He reacted immediately, sending officers from the Prevention Department to an apartment in Legnica where the 46-year-old man might have been staying.
In one of the rooms, the officers found the desperate man. He was lying on a sofa, with empty medicine packages and empty alcohol bottles beside him.
The 46-year-old was unconscious. The police placed him in the recovery position and monitored his vital signs until the paramedics arrived. They took the would-be suicide victim to hospital.
