The incident took place on June 14, several minutes after midnight, in Jelenia Góra. Taking advantage of the fact that the owner was not in the apartment, the 24-year-old man broke into the premises and prepared metal items to take away, intending to sell them at a scrap-metal collection point. He did not manage to steal anything because he was caught red-handed by police, who had been alerted to the burglary by a vigilant neighbor.
The 24-year-old tried to hide from the officers under blankets and clothing. Without success. He was arrested and taken to police custody.
The young man now faces up to 10 years in prison.
