Police officers from Bogatynia, working together with German officers, recovered two cars stolen from our western neighbours (with a combined value of over PLN 130,000). They also detained a man who was in possession of both vehicles.
According to information obtained by the officers, a 35-year-old resident of Bogatynia was driving a car that might have been stolen. The police checked the vehicle. Indeed, it had been stolen from Germany two days earlier. Moreover, at the 35-year-old’s home parking area, the officers secured another car that had been stolen just a few hours earlier.
It also emerged that the 35-year-old was wanted—he had to serve a substitute sentence for an unpaid fine. What is more, while procedural activities were being carried out, the suspect violated the bodily integrity of the officers: he kicked and punched them.
The man was taken into police custody. He faces up to five years in prison.
