Several dozen soldier-footballers seeking a place in the Polish Military National Team have come to Bolesławiec. They are taking part in a three-week selection camp. The Bolesławiec camp includes soldiers from military units in western and southern Poland, from Szczecin to Rzeszów. Many of them have previously appeared for the military national team. To play for it again, they must convince the coaches once more.
Below is a fragment of a friendly match between the military team and All Stars Bolesławiec (navy-blue shirts).
The military players train under the watchful eye of three selectors: Jakub Wołyński, Sebastian Tylutki and Grzegorz Tychowski. Those candidates who convince the coaches will appear at the Polish Military Championships. These will take place at the end of June. In turn, an appearance at the Polish Championships is a chance to be called up to the Polish Military National Football Team and participate in the Military Olympics, which will be held in China in 2019.
On Wednesday (31 May), a match was played at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street in Bolesławiec, in which the military national-team players faced All Stars Bolesławiec. The All Stars team featured players from Bolesławiec and nearby clubs. The matches were played in a 3x30-minute format. The military players won convincingly (7:2). All Stars Bolesławiec defended effectively until the 25th minute. That was when Łukasz Rudyk put the national-team players ahead. Later in the game, the scorers were: Łukasz Tyrawski twice, as well as Marcin Łojko, Hubert Mikołajczyk, Maciej Zielonka (own goal), and Krystian Szkulski. All Stars Bolesławiec’s goals were scored by Krzysztof Szymański and Józef Stempak. And next Tuesday (6 June), at the stadium on Spółdzielcza Street, the military players will face BKS Bolesławiec. Kick-off is scheduled for 18:30.
