On Saturday, May 20, the 2nd Open Day of the Volunteer Fire Service fire station in Trzebień (Bolesławiec municipality) took place. There were many demonstrations, contests and fire service-themed games, for both children and adults. An exceptional attraction was a tug-of-war using a fire hose between firefighters from Trzebień and firefighters from Bolesławiec, in which the hosts proved unbeatable.
There were also artistic performances. Visitors could watch a performance by children from the dance group of the “Jarzębina” Community Center in Trzebień. Working together with firefighters from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec, the firefighters prepared an interesting technical rescue demonstration. The vehicle with a mechanical ladder from the State Fire Service Rescue and Firefighting Unit in Bolesławiec attracted considerable interest.
As in the previous year, the 2nd Open Day of the Fire Station ended with a dance party that lasted until morning. “We sincerely thank our families, friends and enthusiasts of the Volunteer Fire Service in Trzebień for the effort they put in and the hours spent organizing this event,” said the firefighters from Trzebień. “We thank all the sponsors who made it possible for participants in our contests to receive wonderful prizes: Katarzyna and Włodzimierz Walkowiak’s Bakery, Textil Bolesławiec, based in Trzebień, Zajazd Leśny in Dąbrowa Bolesławiecka, Restauracja Chłopska in Trzebień, Speed Trans Roadside Assistance and Jarosław Śliwa.
