The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 23, at the railway crossing on Modłowa Street in Bolesławiec. As a reader informed us: “The barriers kept rising and falling—alternately. On top of that, the signal lights were flashing, and drivers did not know whether to stop or go…”
As it turned out, an impatient driver was to blame for the situation—he... rammed the barrier. The result? The aforementioned malfunction, which PKP employees fixed within approximately 30 minutes. Fortunately, no collision occurred during that time.
Update: 2017-05-26
PKP employees reviewed the monitoring footage. As it turned out, the malfunction was not caused by an impatient driver. The cause was different—a blown fuse.
