The operation was conducted from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Police officers placed the main roads in our district under particular supervision, supported by radar speed meters, video recorders and breathalyzers. Officers checked drivers’ sobriety, the technical condition of vehicles, and whether drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.
Over the course of 16 hours, officers inspected 68 vehicles. Forty-one drivers were fined for exceeding the speed limit. The driving licences of two drivers who exceeded the limit by more than 50 km/h were confiscated.
In addition, officers removed a 36-year-old Volkswagen driver from traffic after finding him driving under the influence of alcohol. (The man had nearly 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his exhaled breath.)
