The 34-year-old from our county, while at the hospital, took advantage of one of the patients’ inattention and stole his backpack, which contained, among other things, a pass with identification details and a photograph, a medical kit, and military clothing.

He was arrested a few hours later, after committing a traffic offense. The man stepped onto the road in front of a vehicle driven by… an off-duty police officer.

The 34-year-old was wearing the stolen military trousers at the time. He immediately admitted to committing the crime and indicated where he had hidden the remaining loot. Police recovered some of the stolen property and returned it to its owner.

The 34-year-old now faces up to 5 years in prison.
