The May holiday weekend on the roads around Jelenia Góra was fairly calm. During this time, there were 25 collisions and 1 road accident, which occurred on 2 May in Karpacz. Preliminary findings indicate that the 78-year-old driver of a Peugeot most likely failed to exercise due caution while turning left and failed to yield to a 42-year-old cyclist. The cyclist suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Police are determining the causes of the incident.

Moreover, officers caught three people driving under the influence of alcohol and three drivers who violated court-imposed bans on driving. Police issued fines to 214 drivers, mainly for speeding, and also confiscated the driving licences of 15 people who were travelling more than 50 km/h faster than permitted in built-up areas.
