Trade union members, in a letter to the deputy starosta of Bolesławiec County, Tomasz Gabrysiak, are calling for a “swift and urgent response” regarding PKS. As they emphasize, there is no dialogue between the president of the county-owned company and its staff. The document reads:

[…] services are being suspended without any consultation with the drivers, who are best informed about this matter. […]

The president is deceiving the staff and passengers by speaking in the local media about the necessity of increasing ticket prices, blaming the drivers for this, and saying that he must increase employees’ minimum wages. […]

Is a five-member Supervisory Board necessary in an enterprise such as PKS?

Why did employees hired under civil-law contracts not receive their February wages on March 10, and will the president pay interest for the delay? [...]

As can be seen, the president is not coping; in our opinion, he is leading the company toward bankruptcy. In addition, he does not talk to the staff, and the rational proposals of the staff and trade unions are not taken into account. We believe that the president’s time is over; immediate changes ARE necessary.

Starosta Karol Stasik informed the councillors that he had instructed the PKS president to prepare a response to the trade union members’ allegations and to prepare a restructuring program by the end of April. We will return to the matter.
