Representatives of five major companies from Bolesławiec and the surrounding area revealed what they expect from candidates. They are looking for people who are courageous, creative, committed, able to work in a team, and capable of communicating efficiently and articulately.
It also turned out that when a candidate submits a job application, the employer is keen to check their Facebook profile. What are they looking for there? The way the applicant communicates with friends and what they publish publicly. This may encourage young people to treat others politely, including online, because an employer will think twice before hiring someone who publicly posts offensive, hostile or vulgar comments such as those below.
In response to a question during the debate led by Krzysztof Gwizdała, editor-in-chief of the newspaper and regional portal group istotne.pl, the following answered: Roman Gortych from Comfort S.A., Anita Szafran from Bader, Marta Wochna, director of BZ WBK, Robert Szubert, director at Kliczków Castle, Ewa Utratna, president of Dersen (fiber optics in Iwiny). Also taking part in the debate were: Jolanta Witek (PUP in Bolesławiec) and deputy county head Tomasz Gabrysiak.
The debate was held at the Old Theatre. Students from four county vocational schools—ZSE, ZSOiZ, ZSHiU and ZSB—took part, together with their teachers: Krystyna Andres-Wędzina, Laura Słocka-Przydróżna, Renata Paszko and Urszula Drąg.
Today’s debate, “Bolesławiec County. An Opportunity for Young People at the Start of Their Professional Journey,” was organized as part of the project “Regional Educational and Vocational Information System for the South-Western Region of Lower Silesia, REGSI,” financed under Measure 10.4.1 of the ROP WD for 2014–2020. The applicant for the project is Lubań County, while its implementer on behalf of Lubań County is Powiatowe Centrum Edukacyjne in Lubań.
The meeting was made possible by cooperation between three counties: Lubań, Bolesławiec and Zgorzelec. Bolesławiec County joined the project, and the participation of Bolesławiec schools made it possible to conduct the debate smoothly.
The initiative was praised by the authorities of Bolesławiec County and appreciated by the employers attending the meeting.
