Students of the Construction Technical School in Bolesławiec competed on Saturday, 4 March, in the regional final of the 30th Construction Knowledge and Skills Olympiad, held in Zielona Góra. The six-member team from Bolesławiec’s “Construction School” competed against students from nine construction schools in the Lubusz and Greater Poland voivodeships. In the neighbouring district, in Nysa, students from seven construction schools in Lower Silesia (Wrocław, Kłodzko, Wałbrzych, Świdnica, Ząbkowice, Jelenia Góra and Strzelin) and schools from the Opole Voivodeship took part. Across the country, as many as 695 students from 158 schools competed in 12 districts. All the students solved the same construction tasks and problems.
After checking all the papers, the main committee in Warsaw announced a list of the 90 best students qualified for the national final. Among them was a student of the Construction School Complex in Bolesławiec, Adrian Rymarz (fourth-year TB class), who scored 54 points and took second place in Zielona Góra. Besides Adrian, the only other student from the entire Lower Silesian Voivodeship to qualify was Paulina Tarazewicz from Jelenia Góra (51 points; third place in Nysa).
Our finalist has advanced to the national final for the second time (last year he came 10th). The national final of the 30th Olympiad will be held on 7–8 April in Białystok. “We hope that Adrian will once again achieve a high place, win the laureate title for the second time and bring us a second Olympic medal,” representatives of the ZSB community say. “Our school has taken part in the Olympiad for the eighth time, and this will be the fourth time we are represented in the national final.”
They add: “The regional committees have not yet announced the results of the other students; we are eagerly awaiting them, especially the results of Dawid from the second-year class and Dominika and Piotr from the third-year class, because they will continue our school’s Olympic traditions in future Olympiads.”
The team’s supervisor is Bronisław Sołek, a teacher of construction subjects.
