The situation was continuously monitored by both the Municipal Crisis Management Centre and the County Crisis Management Centre. Information concerning the threat was regularly sent to the Voivodeship Crisis Management Centre. From the moment the threat emerged, the fire service intervened several times throughout the county. All incidents involved securing endangered farm buildings.
– On February 23, an increase in the water discharge from the Leśna reservoir to 18 million/m³ was planned. The information was obtained from the County Crisis Management Centre in Lubań. Fortunately, the flood wave caused by the increased discharge from the reservoir was not as large as expected by the Municipal Crisis Management Centre in Nowogrodziec. The water level in the river reached 350 cm, only 10 cm short of the level required to introduce a flood alarm. With each passing day, the water level in the Kwisa River began to fall steadily and today is only 262 cm. The flood emergency was lifted on March 1 – reports Grzegorz Dziadek, head of the Crisis Management Office Grzegorz Dziadek.
The situation on the Bóbr River was also monitored continuously. – There are currently no flood-related threats, but one can never be too vigilant – county officials emphasize.
