On 25 February, a dog was hit in the village of Warta Bolesławiecka, on the county road towards Tomaszów Bol. The police were notified of the accident and asked to secure the animal’s remains. They arrived at the scene at around 10:00 a.m., then moved the still-living animal to the roadside and drove away from the place where the dog was dying.

He added: “I thought they had gone to get veterinary help, but to this day the remains have been lying by the roadside.”

Sergeant Marta Kubiak of the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec stresses that the officers found the remains of the dog at the scene. The animal showed no signs of life. Since it was impossible to locate its owner, the officers moved the body of the hit animal to the roadside so that it would not pose a danger to road users. (This is standard procedure in such cases.)

Moreover, the officer on duty at the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec notified the relevant services. The Warta Bolesławiecka Municipality is to handle the matter.
