Officers from the Prevention Division of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica arrested four men aged between 19 and 20. The entire group is suspected, among other things, of driving under the influence of drugs, possessing and trafficking narcotic substances. One of those arrested was also a man wanted by the justice system.

The arrest took place on February 16, at around 2:00 a.m. On one of the streets in Legnica, officers noticed a Volkswagen passenger car carrying four men. When he saw the police, one of the passengers got out of the car and began to run away. The officers immediately notified another patrol, which detained the fugitive

Under a jacket left behind by the fleeing 20-year-old, officers found nearly 700 marketable portions of marijuana in the car. What is more, it emerged that the fugitive was wanted because he had to serve a one-and-a-half-year prison sentence.

Moreover, in the vehicle’s glove compartment, officers found so-called “piko,” or methamphetamine, which belonged to one of the passengers. It also emerged that the 19-year-old driver had been driving the VW under the influence of drugs. All four were taken into police custody.

The wanted 20-year-old, who had a significant amount of marijuana with him, had been dealing drugs for some time. He now faces up to 10 years in prison. The 19-year-old caught with methamphetamine could be sentenced to three years behind bars. The offense committed by the driver carries a penalty of up to two years in prison.
