The incident occurred on Saturday, February 18, on Kiepury Street (near the Polo store) in Jelenia Góra. The city guards’ actions consisted of securing the scene and providing first aid to the injured man.
An ambulance and the police were called to the scene. According to eyewitness accounts, the driver of a passenger car failed to exercise due caution, did not notice the elderly man crossing at the pedestrian crossing, and hit him.
The city guards handed the injured man over to the emergency medical team and provided the police officers with the information they had gathered about the incident. The man was taken to hospital.
