The arrest took place on February 3. Police officers from the Legnica traffic unit decided to inspect a BMW on Wielogórska Street. Two men were traveling in the car. As it turned out, both were wanted. The 30-year-old driver was wanted by police for violating a court ban on driving any motor vehicles, while the 31-year-old passenger was wanted by the justice system because he had a three-year prison sentence to serve.

Both detainees were taken to police custody. What is more, it emerged that they had a string of offenses to their names. In November last year, the 30-year-old and another associate stole a surveillance camera from one of Legnica’s stores. Over the past seven months, the 31-year-old had driven a vehicle at least 10 times despite a final decision revoking his driving privileges. He was also responsible for four truck burglaries. In September, together with a 21-year-old, he broke into a warehouse, from which they stole, among other things, a cutting plotter, PA speakers, electrical cables, 10 cartons of tea and 40 packages of paper.

The officers recovered some of the stolen property. The case is developing, and police do not rule out further arrests. The 30-year-old driver faces up to five years in prison. The repeat-offender burglar could be jailed for as long as 15 years.
