The incident occurred on Thursday (2 February) in Bolesławiec. Before 6:00 a.m., on national road No. 94, under the viaduct, a Lancia passenger car collided with a Mercedes truck. The accident injured the 33-year-old Lancia driver and a 34-year-old passenger. Both are residents of Bolesławiec.
To extricate the victims from the passenger car, firefighters had to use specialist equipment to cut through the bodywork. The injured men were taken to hospital. The driver is seriously injured. The passenger sustained less severe injuries. He suffered general bruising.
According to the police's preliminary findings, the passenger car driver moved into the left lane and collided with the driver of a truck who was travelling correctly.
