The matter was reported during the January session of the County Council by starosta Karol Stasik: “The Board has given the director of the Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych permission to take steps aimed at starting education in the nursing profession at secondary-school level.”

Importantly, this permission does not mean that the program will definitely be launched, as legal regulations are still lacking. To become a nurse in Poland, one still has to complete higher education. However, the starosta noted that the PiS government intends to change this. He added: “We—the County and the hospital—are very interested in launching education in the nursing profession.”

Good news?
