Until the coalition arrangement in the County changed, Ewa Sondaj of the Polish Peasant Party was chair of the Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Protection and Water Resources Committee. At the end of last year, she was dismissed from that position and became merely a member of the committee. She then resigned from membership in the body.

On Thursday, 26 January, the County Council unanimously adopted a resolution on changing the membership of the Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Protection and Water Resources Committee of the Bolesławiec County Council. “This change was caused by councillor Ewa Sondaj’s resignation from membership in the committee,” Ryszard Kawka, chair of the County Council, informed everyone gathered in the conference room of the round building.

Let us recall that since November last year, a new coalition has governed the County: Platforma Samorządowa–Forum–SLD–independent councillors. The PSL councillors were outside the coalition: Ewa Sondaj and Ewa Suchecka.

Since the coalition arrangement had changed, it was only a matter of time before the chairs of the County Council committees changed as well. During the Council’s December session, Bolesławiec Land councillor Maciej Małkowski informed everyone gathered in the conference room that Ewa Sondaj had been dismissed as chair of the Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Protection and Water Resources Committee, while Ewa Suchecka had been dismissed as deputy chair of the Audit Committee. The councillor objected to the fact that neither the starost nor the Council chair had addressed this matter. He also objected that they had not provided substantive reasons for dismissing the two councillors from the aforementioned positions.

At that point, Ewa Potyszka of Platforma, chair of the Audit Committee, spoke. She stressed that the change of deputy chair “was not caused by a poor assessment of her colleague’s work.” County Council chair Ryszard Kawka added that it had been a decision of the committee members.

The new deputy chair of the Audit Committee became Janusz Puzio, while the new chair of the Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Protection and Water Resources Committee became Władysław Bakalarz (both from Romanowe Forum).
