Officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra identified and then arrested a 22-year-old man suspected of a series of burglaries. From September to January, the suspect committed several property crimes in Jelenia Góra. His main targets were basements in the Zabobrze estate. He stole power tools, jars of preserves, bicycles, copper pipes, fittings, tires and other items. The victims’ total losses amount to several thousand zlotys.

Police are currently establishing all the circumstances of the case, including what happened to the stolen property and identifying further victims. The 22-year-old probably pawned some of the loot at pawnshops and sold some of it to people he encountered.

The young man confessed to the crime. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
