How does councillor Maciej Małkowski perform his duties as a councillor? We decided to check whether, as declared, he holds office hours and receives residents in the county office building. Councillors’ office hours last one hour, take place once a month on a Monday, and are scheduled six months in advance.
Unfortunately, the councillor was not there during his office hours. There was no information and no apology. The female office workers said that the councillor had not reported his absence. So anyone who came to see the councillor today found the door locked. We wanted to ask councillor Małkowski why he was absent, but he did not answer our call and did not call back.
Some time ago, the councillor made a great fuss about Bolesławiec’s traffic congestion. He even submitted an interpellation. In fact, the councillor is good at writing. However, when it came to specifics and the people responsible for traffic lights at intersections came to the city, the councillor was not at the meeting, even though he had been invited. In our opinion, the councillor failed to follow up on the matter. As a result, the people responsible for the traffic lights concluded that everything was fine.
In 2015, Maciej Małkowski received PLN 13,680 for serving as a councillor (that is, PLN 1,140 per month). The Councillor of the Bolesławiec Region often criticizes the actions of city and county local-government officials. (He protested—together with councillors from the Law and Justice and Polish People’s Party clubs—against the new county coalition). Recently, he “made a name for himself” by submitting an interpellation concerning the Fallen-Over Naked Lady on the istotne.pl portal.
What do you think of such a councillor’s work?
