Update 2024-09-03

The new head of the Bolesławiec ARiMR office will be Katarzyna Gmur-Matyjewicz, a longtime employee of the office and, privately, the wife of Tomasz Matyjewicz, secretary of Gromadka Municipality and a PO councilor on the Bolesławiec County Council. She will take over the manager’s duties at the end of this week.

Update 2024-08-16

As the director of the Lower Silesian Branch of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, istotne.pl emphasized in a conversation with Zygmunt Balant, if Maciej Małkowski had not left the county office at his own request, he would indeed have been dismissed.

The head of the regional ARiMR branch stressed that this was a matter of trust: the position held until the end of August by the Bolesławiec local-government official requires someone to whom the management can entrust tasks “with their eyes closed.” A moment later, however, the director assured us that M. Małkowski had performed his duties and that he “respects his work.”

It is not yet known who will replace Maciej Małkowski. As Z. Balant informed us, candidates for the position must be approved at the central office. Officially, the new name of the head of the Bolesławiec office is not expected to be known until the beginning of September.

The director also added that changes of this kind in county offices in our province are not unusual, but they generally do not attract such media interest.

On Monday, August 12, we reported:

According to unofficial information we received from an employee of the Lower Silesian Regional Branch of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture, Maciej Małkowski, currently head of the Bolesławiec County Council, will no longer serve as head of the county office of the agency in question. We were told that the Bolesławiec resident is leaving at his own request. (He is to manage the office until the end of August.)

It is not yet known who will replace him. We will return to the subject.
