Piotr Roman said that there is no coalition in the city, only an agreement joined solely by councillors from PiS. According to the mayor, Warsaw allegedly forbade councillors from the Civic Coalition from joining the agreement.

Asked what his voters think about him co-governing with PiS, a party opposed to the European Union, the mayor does not answer directly. “I do not see a threat to Poland’s sovereignty, but I do see a problem in the fact that some decisions by the EU authorities are incomprehensible to me,” Piotr Roman says.

In the interview, the mayor stated that he tries to separate politics from municipal affairs, which is why he did not want people with party membership cards to hold deputy-mayor positions. “Transferring mistakes from Warsaw is the worst mistake being made in very many local governments,” the mayor explained.

Piotr Roman would like everyone to get involved in organising the thirtieth, jubilee Ceramics Festival in 2024. That is why he invited Bogusław Nowak to help organise it. The invitation will cost the city budget 50,000 złoty.

“I also had to overcome myself in certain matters. The elections are over, and it is possible to create something together rather than sow discord and set people against one another. The festival is a celebration for all residents,” the mayor added.
