Police officers from the Criminal Department of Police Station I in Jelenia Góra arrested a 19-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra suspected of theft and burglary. Last December, the teenager committed at least 16 crimes in Jelenia Góra. His offenses included breaking into cars and utility buildings. Among the items stolen were power tools, documents and lighting fixtures. The victims' total losses amounted to at least PLN 25,000.
Police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case and identifying additional victims. It is possible that the 19-year-old committed more crimes of this type. Some of the cases had already been discontinued; after the suspect was arrested, they were reopened.
The resident of Jelenia Góra confessed to the offenses. He was placed in police custody. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
