On New Year’s Day, Legnica police officers received a report of the theft of a pouch containing documents, bank cards and cash. The crime took place at the railway station in Legnica. The victim reported the theft to the railway security officers, who then notified the police. Meanwhile, thanks to municipal guards monitoring the surveillance cameras, the suspect’s description was established and she was located.
Less than two hours after the incident, the 46-year-old was detained by police officers at Słowiański Square. Officers from KMP Legnica determined that the woman had taken the cash from the stolen pouch and thrown the pouch into the rubbish.
The police recovered the stolen property. The detained 46-year-old will face trial for theft. She could face up to five years in prison.
