The incident occurred on Monday, January 2. Around 10 p.m., a resident of Jelenia Góra County called the emergency number of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra, reporting that her Warsaw-based online acquaintance wanted to commit suicide. The woman had been corresponding with the Warsaw resident for about a year, but she did not know his full details; she had only fragmentary information about him (his first name, age, month and day of birth, and the fact that the capital resident suffered from depression). That day, the acquaintance told her that he wanted to kill himself and that they would never write to each other again.
Within a few minutes, the duty officer at the Municipal Police Headquarters in Jelenia Góra determined the desperate man's place of residence and informed officers in Warsaw about the situation. They went to the indicated address. It turned out that the man was in serious condition and required medical assistance. The would-be suicide victim was taken to hospital.
