When adding a resolution to start a diet to our list of New Year's plans, we dream not only of an enviable figure, but also of excellent well-being. Very often, however, it ends with nothing more than promises and putting off the diet until tomorrow, as the saying goes. When we do manage to take action, we usually torment ourselves with rigorous fasting or work up a tremendous sweat at the gym. That is not the way! It turns out that the key to effective weight loss is developing proper eating habits, which a dietitian can help us with.
First step: a free dietary consultation
At the very beginning, the dietitian’s role is to conduct what is known as a dietary interview. “During the first, free consultation, we try to get to know the person and their eating habits as well as possible. We measure the body, as well as the amount of fat and fluids in the body. After all, each of us is different,” says Małgorzata Tubaj, a dietitian at the Naturhouse Centre in Bolesławiec.
Factors affecting the specifics of the treatment include, among others, age, past illnesses and medications currently being taken. Once sufficient information has been collected, the specialist can identify the cause of the excess-weight problem and tailor an appropriate nutrition plan and supplements to support the diet.
A diet under the watchful eye of a specialist
A diet does not have to be associated with something unpleasant and difficult. However, it is worth remembering that our health always comes first, and treatments carried out without prior consultation with an expert may simply do harm. They often contribute to the popular yo-yo effect.
“A diet must be nutritious, balanced and practical. The calorie content of meals should be adjusted to our metabolism so that we achieve satisfactory results, but not at the expense of our health,” confirms the dietitian from Naturhouse.
However, when following an individually tailored dietary plan and remaining under a specialist’s care, there is nothing to worry about. During weekly visits, the dietitian monitors the proper course of the treatment and motivates us to continue the effort. With the support of a dietitian and family, as well as our own strong will and patience, we can achieve our long-awaited goal and complete our New Year's resolution successfully. To make it easier to persevere with the resolution, we encourage you to take advantage of a free dietary consultation.
