From the new year, the number of dispatch centres will decrease. This is connected with the reorganisation of the emergency notification system. The process has been under way since 2011 and assumes reducing the number of dispatch centres across the country from 338 to 43 in 2017. This means that, for example, in a town such as Bolesławiec, ambulance call-outs will no longer be handled.
There will be two dispatch centres in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Our town and county will come under Legnica. When we call the emergency number, Wrocław will answer the call and redirect our request to the appropriate dispatcher.
The dispatcher will know exactly where we are and which ambulance is closest to us. This will all be possible thanks to the system for locating our phones and ambulances.
The closure of the dispatch centre in Bolesławiec is connected with the elimination of five positions. The employees will find work at the hospital.
