A few days ago, an officer from the Prevention Department of the Legnica Municipal Police Headquarters, while off duty, noticed two men loitering near vehicles parked on aleja Rzeczpospolitej in Legnica. The officer informed police officers on duty. On Bielańska Street, they noticed a young man holding an object in his hands who began to run away when he saw the uniformed officers. After a brief chase, the young man was detained. It turned out that moments earlier he had stolen a CB radio antenna from a VW vehicle. The detained 20-year-old was taken into police custody.
The following day, police officers detained an 18-year-old, the accomplice of the 20-year-old suspect. It came to light that over the course of two months, the two detainees had committed a series of property crimes. They broke into garden sheds, outbuildings, garages, cellars and vehicles in Legnica. Their most common haul consisted of power tools, tires, lawnmowers, bicycles and radios, as well as food products and alcohol.
The burglars have already been charged with 23 offenses. However, the case is still developing. Police do not rule out further arrests. Both suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
