The matter was discussed during the December meeting of the Bolesławiec County Council by Stanisław Chwojnicki, a member of the County Board. The project developed by employees of the Powiat Family Support Centre will begin in January 2017. The value of the project, which will be co-financed by the Regional Operational Programme of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for 2014–2020, is PLN 1.93 million. Funding: PLN 1.8 million.

– The Bolesławiec County project was the only one to pass the verification process and be approved by the committee – the Board member stressed. The project will be implemented until December 2019.

Who is this project for:

  • for people in crisis who are experiencing domestic violence
  • for young people who leave children’s homes and foster families at the age of 18
  • for families experiencing caregiving and parenting problems
  • for people with disabilities.

The project will cover 170 people. In cooperation with the City of Bolesławiec, the following facilities will be established at the “Przystań” Association House at 32D Tysiąclecia Avenue in Bolesławiec:

  • an emergency training (protected) apartment for people in crisis
  • a supported training (protected) apartment aimed at supporting young adults becoming independent after leaving family and institutional foster care
  • a consultation point providing specialist counselling, known as the family window
  • a free lending service for nursing and assistive equipment for people with disabilities, including hard-to-access equipment such as an oxygen concentrator.

In addition, county officials plan to build a stairlift platform there for people with disabilities. We will return to the subject.
