The 61-year-old man pretended to be interested in buying the victim’s car. The men met in the parking lot of one of Legnica’s shopping centres. The potential buyer told the owner that he wanted to take the car for a test drive. He got into the car and… never returned.
After several days, the victim received a message from the thief saying that he could return the car if he was paid PLN 2,700.
The perpetrator of the brazen theft was arrested by police officers several days later in Wrocław. The car, worth PLN 12,000, was recovered. The 61-year-old man now faces up to five years in prison.
