During the “Pedestrian – unprotected road user” operation, officers from the Zgorzelec traffic police detected 48 offences. Twenty-four pedestrians were fined, mainly for crossing the road in prohibited places, while 4 received warnings. In addition, the police fined 15 drivers and 5 cyclists.
– The purpose of these activities is to instil in pedestrians and cyclists the obligation to comply with road traffic regulations, which they repeatedly disregard, recklessly putting their health and lives at risk – says Senior Sergeant Mariola Kowalska, spokesperson for the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec.
