The first incident occurred at around 4:00 a.m. at kilometre 51 of the A4 in the direction of Wrocław (near Krzyżowa). The driver of a car transporter failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions and hit an energy-absorbing barrier. The vehicle overturned onto its side. Two residents of Rzeszów were travelling in it; neither was injured.
As a result of the incident, a traffic jam formed. A lorry travelling in it hit a Fiat Ducato. The latter vehicle's driver was taken to a hospital in Bolesławiec.
Another collision occurred at kilometre 28 of the A4 (near Czerna, Nowogrodziec commune). A Fiat Ducato rear-ended a passenger car. The person responsible for the collision was fined.
