Officers from the Police Station in Pieńsk received a report of the theft of a Volkswagen Golf. They found the stolen car 400 metres away—it was damaged and partially stripped.

Based on the secured evidence, officers identified the perpetrator as a 34-year-old resident of Ruszów. At the man's home, they found items stolen from the vehicle, which had earlier been abandoned, including a car radio, battery, various keys and speakers.

It turned out that the man had also been stealing electricity. What is more, he was wanted—he has an eight-month prison sentence to serve for other property-related offences. The detainee was taken to a remand prison. He now faces up to 10 years in prison.
