Officers from the Police Station in Szklarska Poręba arrested a 29-year-old resident of Piechowice who is suspected of theft, failing to stop for a traffic check, driving under the influence of intoxicating substances, and creating a road safety hazard. The arrest took place on November 2. Officers noticed two men riding a KTM motorcycle on Jeleniogórska Street in Szklarska Poręba. The passenger was not wearing a helmet. The police signalled to the motorcycle rider to stop. However, he failed to do so, instead accelerating and fleeing toward Jelenia Góra, where the police prevented him from continuing to drive. The motorcyclist then abandoned the vehicle and began fleeing on foot with the passenger. He was arrested after a short chase.

The rider turned out to be a 29-year-old resident of Piechowice. The motorcycle had registration plates assigned to another vehicle, and its identification numbers had been removed, which may indicate that it was stolen. Blood was also taken from the 29-year-old for testing because he is suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicating substances. The suspect could face up to five years in prison.
