On 28 October, at around 11:30 p.m., while patrolling the city on Piotra Skargi Street in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed a man who changed direction and suddenly quickened his pace when he saw the police car. They decided to check what had caused his strange behavior. A moment later, they detained him. It turned out that the 25-year-old was wanted—he had a two-year-and-15-day prison sentence to serve for crimes against property. What is more, at the time of his arrest, the man was carrying amphetamine and marijuana. It also emerged that the detainee had a series of thefts to his name, committed in grocery discount stores in Jelenia Góra, Szklarska Poręba, Karpacz and Mysłakowice, from which he mainly stole cigarettes.
The man was taken to pre-trial detention. He faces up to five years in prison.
