– The Bolesławiec County Board did not report officials to the authorities – Radosław Palczewski, secretary of the local government, clarifies in a conversation with “ii” Radosław Palczewski, secretary of the local government. Kazimierz Gawron, now a former Board member, wrote in one section of the document justifying his resignation from the position:

It is difficult for me to come to terms with and accept the lack of economy and wastefulness in spending public funds by some officials of the Starosty Office, who also frequently demonstrate a lack of care for the Starosty Office’s property. Through the clear and tangible negligence of “trusted officials” and the Starost’s failure to respond to comments concerning the mismanagement of officials and heads of organizational units, as well as the County Secretary supervising them, the Starosty Office’s budget is systematically exposed to financial losses for which no one has faced disciplinary consequences – many examples could be cited.

The facts concerning the negligence and omissions of “trusted officials” are concealed, and County Board members are misled by being given false information. The County Secretary also does this personally, perhaps with the Starost’s knowledge.

– Mr Kazimierz Gawron, who sat on the County Board for two years, claims that the Starosty Office’s budget is being systematically exposed to losses. How can we defend ourselves? We have all the opinions of the Regional Chamber of Audit, as well as the findings of inspections and audits by the Supreme Audit Office and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office. Every year, the County Council grants the Board a vote of approval and adopts the budget – R. Palczewski lists. – None of these institutions found any mismanagement. But after Mr Gawron’s letter, the Board had no choice but to notify the prosecutor’s office.

The notification concerns the possibility that a crime was committed by an unspecified group of people. – We do not possess the knowledge that Mr Gawron has – the County Secretary points out. – The former Board member cited no facts: who, how, or when? No one is prejudging that a crime took place. What is more, the Board maintains that no such crimes are being committed, but officials are willing to undergo verification.

We will return to this topic.
