Everyone is well aware that petrol in Bolesławiec is among the most expensive in Poland. Yet no one can give a reasonable answer as to why this is the case.

"At all petrol stations in Bolesławiec, fuel prices are identical, and they are the highest in Poland," says Kazimierz Marczewski, president of the Bolesławiec Business Association.

Petrol may nevertheless be expensive because there are many customers. If demand were lower, prices would probably start to fall.

Members of the Business Forum believe that a tacit agreement exists between the station owners. The letter to the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection suggests that Bolesławiec stations are engaging in monopolistic practices. The applicants expect the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection to investigate the matter and issue a statement.

The Bolesławiec Business Forum consists of four organizations: the Bolesławiec Business Association, the Guild of Various Crafts, the Employers' Association, and the Association of Bolesławiec Merchants.
