This year's workshops will take place from 7 to 15 August. The lecturers are among Poland's leading blues and jazz musicians: Krystyna Prońko, Aleksandra Sozańska-Kut, Maciej Balcar, Kasia Maliszewska, Krzysztof “Puma” Piasecki, Leszek Cichoński, Roman Puchowski, Jacek Jaguś, Bohdan Lizoń, Bartek Łęczycki, Roman Badeński, Zbigniew Lewandowski, Tomasz Grabowy, Paweł Serafiński and Paweł Więsik.
The workshops in Bolesławiec are an event with a long and rich history. Over the years, they have brought together more than a thousand young music enthusiasts, many of whom have found their place on the Polish music scene. It is enough to mention Jacek Jaguś, leader of JJ Band; Wojtek Garwoliński, founder of Pivo, now a member of Małgorzata Ostrowska's band; and Katarzyna Maliszewska, an author of articles in “Gitarzysta” and now also a lecturer. For information about the workshops, contact Łukasz Molak: tel. 505 963 860, email biuro@bluesnadbobrem.eu.
On 14 August at 1:00 p.m., a workshop at the auditorium of the Music School in Bolesławiec will be led by world-renowned drummer Virgil Donati. The musician has worked with artists and groups including On The Virg, Steve Vai, Ring Of Fire, Tribal Tech, Derek Sherinian, Southern Sons and Soul Sirkus. He currently performs with Planet X.
The Blues Band Review, which since last year has borne the name of Tadeusz Nalepa, also has a rich history. During the review, bands perform three songs, including one that must come from the Patron's repertoire. This year's event will take place on Thursday, 14 August, in the Forum cinema hall. In addition to selecting the winning band, the jury also chooses the best instrumentalists. The organizers invite bands to send demo recordings and entry forms:
- to: Stowarzyszenie Blues nad Bobrem, ul. Sierpnia '80 12/13, 59-700 Bolesławiec
- or by email: k.rojewski@funmedia.pl
Entries will be accepted until 5 August. Bands will be notified by telephone by 10 August if they qualify for the review.
A blues service has also become a tradition. The unique character of this event attracts many Bolesławiec residents and others every year. The final concert will take place on 15 and 16 August. More information can be found on the festival's official website.
